Terry,
I am so sorry to read of Traveler's passing. I'm glad that you had the opportunity this morning to comfort him as much as you could as he was leaving, and time to say your goodbyes to him. I'm also glad that it was brief for him and hopefully without much pain. I'm tearful here for your loss as he was a such special pigeon. I know you will always carry him in your heart. Fly free beautiful Traveler. Margaret |

What a sad day. Traveler was loved by all of us here. What a special bird. I am so sorry Terry. And poor Fan-Fan is second time widow now? Oh, how sad.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and condolences. I'm afraid that I've really taken the loss of Traveler awfully hard today. I hope I can be a little more objective/realistic about it tomorrow. This came as such a terrible surprise that I'm still not quite getting my mind around it very well. It doesn't help that a new pigeon came in today and lived for only about 12 minutes nor that I know I am going to lose one of my little sparrow babies before the day is done. Yesterday was the second anniversary of my father's passing at the age of 90, tomorrow is my maternal grandmother's birthday and though she died many decades ago, I still think of her. Now with losing Traveler today, I think I'll just skip June 12 through June 14 next year!
Yes, little FanFan has now been widowed twice. She first lost Castor and now Traveler. Weavie, I think you are now the lone senior bird here (at least of the non-hookbill variety). I hope you will continue to bless us with your presence for many years to come. For those who don't know, Weavie is also 21 years old. Terry |

My heart is just aching for you Terry. As I sit here with tears running down my face I can't imagine what you must be feeling. Traveler certainly lived long and I know how loved he was - by lots of members here too. Glad for him, and for you, that the final journey was near by you being comforted, loved, and cared for - as always. He'll always be a part of your life and have a place to call home in your heart. God bless you Terry and may Traveler soar high and long.

Ah, Terry, I am so sorry for your loss. I know that Traveler's passing leaves a hole in your heart, especially difficult for you at this time of year. I'm glad you had a chance to say goodby to him. Traveler was very lucky to have crossed paths with you. You provided him a long, comfortable full life. Now he is free from his aged shell, speeding across the vast spaces.

Such a gentleman Traveller is to tarry long enough for you to say goodbye. My thoughts are with you Terry. Take care of yourself and take comfort in your 'feathered support group'.

A remarkable pigeon he wasTerry, I read the title in the Hall of Love and was just taken away. What a tragedy for you to loose another belove pigeon and especially Traveler who has been a part of you for such a long period of time. He was truly a remarkable friend to you and known by most of us on Pigeon Talk. He was part of the Pigeon Talk community. My heart goes out to you and I pray you recover soon from your loss.

A beautiful angel indeed. John

Oh Terry, I read the title and just started crying. Bless his dear heart, and yours. What a huge loss to the world. Bless him for staying on long enough to celebrate his birthday, and to say good bye to you today. He knows how very much he was loved! I'm so sorry you have so much grief today in your heart. Sometimes it is so hard. I lit a candle for you and said a special prayer, I pray your grief eases and that you find comfort in your other animals. I'm just so sorry.

Terry,
I too saw his name and couldn't fight back the tears. He is our mascot, and he gave us hope that all our beloved birds could live to match his age. Dearest Traveler what a gentleman you are not to slip away in the night without bidding Terry a farewell. Travel then beautiful bird to the place where your spirit is free. There are so many of ours waiting to welcome you. We won't forget you. |
