Blue Velvet???I am meeting up with a guy to trade a pair of Frillbacks for a pair of Egyptian Swifts. I know nothing about this breed, other than they are gorgeous colored birds! The variety of ES is called "blue velvet." How the heck do you get that color? I have never seen anything like it! While I don't have time now, I think it would be neat to eventually get that color into a smaller, tamer breed of pigeon, while still retaining the flying and homing ability. Can anyone explain the genetics behind the "blue velvet" color in the ES birds?
