AGSG American Roller found in Frederick MD

Hello!

We found an American Roller a few days ago in our barn. He/She seems very friendly and does not mind human contact. We would love for someone who knows about pigeons and American Rollers to adopt the little one. He his so beautiful. I am attaching a picture. Anybody interested in adopting "Rollie", please send me an email. We would love for him to have a proper home with friends!

Thank you so much!

Hi I sent a message to one of our members who's in Southern MD. That is a beautiful bird - thanks for taking him/her in (or at least letting him adopt you for the time being ).

Thank you! I just thought he was beautiful from the first day I saw him! He/She deserves a good home. Any chance of knowing if its a female or a male? His coat is even more black/blue than the picture shows.

Anything your members could do to help would be great! Would you have any other ideas on who else to contact?

Thanks!

-Isabelle

well actually if this is an agsg banded bird its not a roller but a tippler /homer cross from a bird market "Pigeon King International Inc" gone bad ,for a little info on its background follow this link -> http://www.bdo.ca/extranets/pigeonking/index.cfm

oh I forgot to mention that when they went belly up many people involved just turned their birds loose since they no longer could aford to feed them and let them out to fend for themselves into the wild and thats why you have that one there with you now , one amongst thousands bummer huh

Thank you LokotaLoft! I did some research when I found the bird, because it was obvious to me he was something special. A Tippler/Homer cross eh? I'm learning more and more about birds!

Thanks for the info.

yes they are still very beautiful birds and make lovely companions as well but this cross should never have been bred for market purposes as they are in no way a meat bird ... not that I would ever eat a pigeon of any sort for any reason what so ever ewww would be like eating a friend not gonna happen lol

Hi Just wanted to check in and see how your new guest was doing?

I haven't heard back from the first person I messaged - but I think I have another lead - this time right in Frederick! I'll let you know what I hear (keeping my fingers crossed ).
