Found AGSG pigeon ON CanadaHi I am just outside Brantford Ontario about an hours drive from Pigeon King Int. A bird arrived last Thursday and seems to like it here. I live in the country and have been feeding it. I was told they like long grain rice, whole popcorn kernels, peanuts. I also added a general bird seed mix. I am under the impression that they are a hardy North American bird and can survive the winter. I hope this is true. I am getting a heated bird bath and my husband is building it a dovecote ( a bird house for pigeons) I am hoping more show up.

Thank you so much for taking in this needy homeless bird.
We appreciate you caring for this bird. If the birds are alowed to free fly they will be subject to hawk attacks. We do have other members finding these birds, perhaps any other lost AGSG birds nearby may need a home, if that is possible?

Sure, I would like that. If there is food water and shelter chances are they should stick around.

Please keep the bird inside something to protect it, especially if you're in the country; we had an unfortunate experience with an AGSG pigeon we had adopted and the kids are still pissed at me for not building it something to live in sooner.
