Erica, it's very kind of you to want to adopt a pigeon. I expect someone here may be able to help, but, so that you don't get a bunch of emails.......could you tell us what kind of pigeon you're looking for? Where would it be kept? Just some basic info that anyone giving someone else a pet would want to know. We get bad people here sometimes looking for pigeons for all the wrong reasons, and you can never be too careful as I'm sure you know.
By the way......welcome to PT. We're a pretty decent bunch of folks around here that LOVE pigeons. ![]()

Hey there!,
Thanks for replying! I understand that you are careful about this sort of thing because there are people out there who like to use them as target shooting or something cruel like that. Personally, I love birds too. I handled pigeons at the rehab center where I volunteered. They are the sweetest birds there and so loving. As for housing, I would buy a bird cage and probably place it on top of my chinchilla cage. I would feed and clean it's cage regularly. Also, I think it would be really cool to train it to fly back to me. So I don't really know how else to prove myself other than taking a photograph of my animal friendly room if they ask. Thanks for the tip! |

Oh yeah, as for the type of pigeon it really doesn't matter to me. The ideal pigeon to me would be friendly, able to fly, and white with tan spots. I'm willing to take any kind and willing to work with a shy pigeon. My Chinchilla was really shy at first but warmed up to me fast because I take good care of her every day.

Hi. One idea might be to contact your local SPCA, Humane Society, or Animal Care/Control office and see if they have any which were lost or up for adoption. That way you would really be helping out a pigeon in need....
I have a great King Pigeon I am fostering now who will need a home...but alas, I am in CA |
