A squirrel and a turtle has been watching my pigeons. Concern?

Do squirrels and turtles prey upon pigeons? Should I be concerned?

No...the squirrel will eat the grain that could be around due to the birds, the turtle is more than likely just a coincidence.

yes yes they will eat them, the squirrel will distract your pigeons by flicking its tail and the turtle will slowly creep up behind them and catch them by the legs and then the squirrel and turtle will share the pigeon meal together, happens all the time =/ sorry to hear you have squrtutle problems =(

LOL. That's what I was thinking! Gotta love Squirtle

Squirrels might hurt the birds in an attempt to get out of your way. I've walked in the loft and chicken coop before to find a squirrel snacking away. I scared it when I walked it, so it started freaking out and jumping all over the place. Which then scared the birds, who flew and scared the squirrel more. It was a horrible continuous chain reaction Finally the squirrel calmed down enough to figure out I had the door open for him, and left.

Your typical box turtles wouldn't hurt anyone. In fact, I don't think any turtles will be bothering your birds. The only way I could see a turtle hurting or killing a pigeon, is if it lands in the water of a pond, and a big snapping turtle comes up for a snack. I've lost ducks like that - one way to drown a duck is get a turtle.
But these are pigeons, who fly, not swim, so no worries

I have a video of a water turtle, maybe a red ear grabbing a pigeon that just got a little too close.

True, there are videos of turtles capturing birds but I am not sure whether its a particular breed of turtle or its applicable to all turtles

I think it depends on the size of the turtle. Here's a video.

it is amazing the box turtle stayed around long enough for you to even look at his face. your birds are safe. keep the squirrels out of the loft though.

There's a video of a pelican also. Our birds are safer then a feral. We just gotta watch out for enemy #1 Mr. Hawk and maybe a cat or dog.
