another question-sorry!

Thanks again for all the advice recently about 'our' pigeon.
The story was we rescued a baby pigeon about a year ago he is here some days for b'fast and tea then he goes of for a few weeks then comes back he is very attached to me and the question we had as we are moving should we take him or leave him, after alot of advice we have decided to leave him here with all the other pigeons he hangs around with.
Anyway he has been gone for over a week and came back at the weekend but looked very different when he came back it looked like he feathers around his face had been pucked and there were white feathers growing out instead -sorry not a good description (he looked so much older) he was very very hungry. Any ideas?

Most likely he is moulting. It is the season for moulting right now.
