arch angels mouth too small.

what type of feed would you recoommend?

they are really picky eaters, they always make a huge mess when they eat cause the corn and the rest of the feed don't fit in their mouth. they brush the feed back and forth causing food to fly all over the place.

This has nothing to do with the fact that they are AA's. They should only need the popcorn in the winter time. Kernel corn is to big IMO. I believe the reason they are throwing seed around is because you are offering them more then they need so they therefore pick their favorite seeds. I would recommend offering 1 ounce per bird once or twice if you like a day.
If they are leaving seed behind then cut back a little more: and I think they would be probably closer to my tipplers which eat .75oz once daily, breeders .75 twice daily.

EDIT: BTW 1 ounce, if you don't have a scale is right around a level table spoon.

I free feed..but I do not add new feed on top of what is in there..they have to eat it almost gone before I give more...seems to work with getting them to eat all that the mix has in there..they do eat their favs first and then leave the ones not their faves for last. But I have noticed their first choice changes.. corn seems to be the popular thing when it is cold.

Actually, 2 Tablespoons equals 1 ounce.

I give enough so that they will eat most of it during the day, although they will still leave a little. Then add more when I get home from work. If given more than what they need, they will just pick out their favorites. Some of the breeds with small mouths do prefer the smaller seeds though, and I do give them more of those.

Not with my seed.
But hey, a tablespoon of wheat and a tablespoon of corn probably have a big difference in weight.

One Tablespoon of feed isn't enough for a bird daily.

Well that's your opinion. My birds fly all day and seem just fine on it.
Not all fanciers do things the same.
In fact my tipplers only eat .75 ounce daily. They came to that amount not me.

EDIT:
Here is two kinds of seed mix each weighed to a ounce for anyone wondering.

Your right, more than a tablespoon. Can't find one to measure with them.

What seed mix is on the right with the Black Oil Sunflower seed in it? Is this a seed blend that you make or do you buy it like this...if so...what is the brand? Looks perfect for Ringneck Doves.

Both seeds are company mixes. Seed on the right is my breeders mix, left flyers.
Neither company put their name on the tags.
Left is Leach, right Excello.

Thank you...I don't have anything like that around here to buy. They both look like great blends to feed to Ringneck Doves. Are they expensive?

The Excello is $30, Leach $25. Per 50 pounds.
