carsick pigeon???my birds are very healthy and the other day i went to a show with two pigeons one was fine bu the other "threw up" a few time. i looked white, nothing was moving in it. just didnt know if it is "carsick" or if somthing is realy wrong>

I got a new bird the day before yesterday and he threw up his seeds on the way home too.
Got home and he has been completely fine, eating drinking pooping, everything normal. I think they sometimes just throw up when they freak out because we had just start driving when it happened.

GAS AND carbon dioxide FumesPigeons can be made sick by the Carbon Dioxide fumes, also birds do get stress out when beening hauled to shows ectra. When you transported these birds I would hope that you did not have them in the trunk of your car. Even when they are in the back seat they can still pick up the scent of gas fumes these gas fumes can make them sick and even kill them. THINK ABOUT IT GEORGE

Yesterday I had a car sick bird for the first time. Once we stopped and got him out in the fresh air, all was well.

I think there are some birds who just get car sick. I've had a couple who upchuck their seeds, even on a short drive while others with them were fine.
As far as I know there were no fumes that could affect them, but it is certainly something to be aware of. I'd never put birds in the trunk of the car. Margaret

During the first IRAQ WAR our troops were supplied with pigeons. These birds were to be used to detect WAR GAS that the IRAQ'S were known to have. Birds are are very susceptible to gas fumes. Coal miner use canaries to detect coal gas in coal mines as they the birds, would be over come by the gas before man,and this gave the miners time to get out of the mine before the men became over come by the gas fumes.The fumes of household cleaners have also been known to make birds ill.
