Did you catch it because you think it belongs to someone?

i put the cage on the floor some food and it got inside.. the only reason i caught it because it looked too friendly it was way too close to me when i threw some food and other ferals dont even come down for food and i didnt catch because its someones else's but it doesnt have band so it might be feral and im gonna release it just wanted to know if its a feral or not..

Wait..........we were asking (or at least I was) because I wasn't sure if you trapped it or actually caught it and IF you CAUGHT it, then that's not normal so there could be a problem with the bird.
However, if it willingly went in to a cage, then it's either VERY hungry or used to humans..........
I don't know that I would be so quick to turn it loose. It looks sort of young, but not THAT young...........hold on to it for a day or so and see how it acts. Feed and water it...........watch the droppings.......it's possible that it's an unbanded homer.........but it's really hard to tell.

Yea, I was sorta thinking Roller too.......but the first picture is blurry and I couldn't tell in the other pic.
Just hold on to it a few days and see how it acts. If it's comfortable being "locked" up.........then let it stay.

I deleted that part of my post. The cage is bigger than I thought it was. He'll be ok in it for a few days.
