Maybe it depends on what you are using to do the website, like raw HTML or one of the website building programs.

Something like Net Objects Fusion, for example, comes with a load of templates, so you can knock up a basic page quickly and then just change the template and see how it looks until you find a color scheme you like. I first got Net Objects off a freebie disk from one of the PC mags. Another one, which you can get is WYSIWYG web builder, which has a free download and offers some templates (think it's shareware).

It's for my pigeon business. I'm planning on selling Birmingham Rollers.

I'm currently using PeoplePC's "Site Builder",( I dunno if anyone has ever heard of that site designer before)

Thanks,
Pigeonboy

PM me a link to your site once it is up. I would just use colors that appeal to you, as long as it is easy to navigate and read I could care less what colors are used.

I used site builder for a little while but ended up giving up and used site builder lite. I would use colors that compliment the colors of your birds, don't use anything like a bright yellow or neons cause they tend to irritate. I like pastels best. They are pretty and they don't take away from the birds.

Hope that helps you find some nice colours!

Something to remember is that many males are partially or totally color-blind (some females are too, but it's much rarer for them) so you will want to pick colors that are pleasing to them
Here's a site I've found very useful ( http://www.visibone.com )
http://www.visibone.com/color/faq.html#websafe
Also type in colorblind web colors in a search engine and you should get something on useful colors.
I love to play with colors but don't get too many going on your site. Just like too many fonts, it gets too busy.
Can't wait to see it.

Cloud Nine Lofts sounds lovely -- just make sure it isn't already taken.

What do guys think of this... Tan background with black text OR Teal background with black text.

Just some thoughts... Maybe Plum background with pale yellow text

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!!

Thanks and God Bless,

Just my opinion...

I would think that a light(er) background with dark(er) print would be the most "readable."

However, I'm not an artist, so I'm sure others will be along with their opinions too!!

Best of everything!

Nothing in tan -- looks really "icky" to me. Did you check out the visibone web site yet? Good resource.
Get a pale background with dark text -- You could do the light yellow background w/the dark plum text. The other way around might look dramatic, but it gets old really really fast. Blues appeal to most people -- if you do teal, make it a very light teal for the background -- you can do a dark teal for text.

Nice thing about the 'net. You can always change the colors.
