Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :DHello!
I finally got an egg out of this pair!!! But they had to have them in december ![]() Do you think they may be able to hatch the eggs fine? They live in a loft that is warmer than outside. And will the chicks be able to survive? By the way I live in Northern Virginia. Lol! Today I saw them washing themselves from their drinker, is that a sign that she was going to lay eggs, because I heard that they take baths so the eggs cand be incubated! Here is the pair.

What could I buy for them to have heat??? I really don't know what to do for the pigeons because my doves lay year round but they are in the house.

Thanks,
I was told to remove the eggs, but I really don't want to because I really wanted babies from these. They would make show sized birds! I will check out the lamp.

You could always just get a poultry lamp with a good red heat bulb. Also make 100% sure that they have water. I've noticed with my birds, if their water is frozen they stay off the nest more looking for water. Other than that they should be fine.

I live in Minnesota and my birds lay eggs year round just fine. My loft is insulated which keeps it a little warmer than outside but Im guessing its still colder than your climate. You should have no worries. The parents will take care of them.

who told you to remove them?... it should not be a problem.. but figuritas sometimes can be a bit different than homers in breeding.. homers are great parents that sit tight.. figuritas can be "wishie washie" sometimes and stop sitting on them early... and it is cold for such a small squab if they do not sit like they should or if you get a good cold snap right when they start to not sit on them they can get chilled and not digest their food well..so you will have to watch them. that is if the eggs are fertile.. homers are more hardy than figs but homers too can and do lose babies to the cold, so do not let people tell you there is never a problem.. when there can be.. it is not ideal when freezing out..but babies can be raised and weaned fine if you keep watch.. and intervene if need be.

Hello,
My neighbor told me, he really likes my birds, but he said just in case they don't die. But now I know that they will be fine.

Also is there something that I could feed my birds during incubation? Like a treat that they like or is their feed just fine??
