Homers are not like other pigeons they fly as fast as they can even when just flying so if the wind chill is 2 it will be less for them at 40 or 50 I would keep them in. I dont think it would blind them but it sure could hurt thier eyes.

thanks I think I will keep them in I just got back from outside and I would prolly need a blow torch to get my door open everything is frozen..Its sucks not being able to let them out cause they wan't to fly so bad,they start lining up at the door if I get close to it.

OTHER then hawks you can let your birds fly every day. Why Well the old saying was if you look around and see the wild pigeons yours should be flying. And if the birds choose not to fly they will trap back in. Hawks hunting for a meal is todays only reason for holding the birds in for there safety If you have the hawk problem as some get.
