Hawks


How can I keep hawks away or trap them

You can not trap them, it is against FEDERAL law. do a search on Hawks. It will give you some ideas. I am sure no one here wants me to explain again how to avoid losses from them......Dave

There really is nothing you can do to keep Hawks away.
It is illegal to trap them.
The best thing you can do to keep your birds safe, is to keep them inside.

i have some getting ready to nest near by,is it illegal to shoot off some bottle rockets will that scare them off?

Damn Hawks


it is illegal, i dont like them,i cant let my chickens out during the day,cant even let my chihuahuas in thier small pen without putting a top on it.

I know I dont know what the problem is the just set around my loft and wait.I also have Quail so we put quail in the cage and let the hawks watch him and when I get ready to fly my bird i will let the Quail go and they will follow him or i will blow a crow call and they fly away like babys

I believe you need a permit to trap them. This time of year you must be careful you don't trap a parent that is feeding young.
Even if you do trap and relocate, they do home quite well.
