I don't know if pigeons can get bird flu or not, don't you have room enough to keep them seperate?

Pigeons don't get bird flu. Here's a couple of articles. I don't think keeping chickens and pigeons together is a good idea.

Pigeons aren't very likely to get the bird flu, and if they do, still unlikely to pass it along to your chickens. On the other hand, chickens are more likely to get the bird flu, and more likely to spread it. Pigeons are surprisingly resistant to the avian flu. I wouldn't recommend keeping them together because of 1. possible diseases, and 2. pecking. My chickens often go after my pigeons when they're out on the ground or taking a bath. Are you wanting to keep them in an aviary, or will your chickens be more 'free range'? Having something like...maybe a section on your loft just for the chickens to come in and roost but still can't touch the pigeons, would be okay...but keeping everyone in an aviary could cause problems. Having their own little areas to roam around is probably the safest.

I have had a couple chickens in an aviary type place with my pigeons though. Only because my baby chickens needed to get out of the brooder and I was too afraid to let them out into the yard with the bigger chickens just yet, and I had a half blind rooster that was being beat up by everyone else I gave everyone some medicine and kept an eye on them, and everything appeared okay (but soon I got tired of the chickens in there and let them out). Everyone's birds are different though. If for any reason you have to put them together, make sure they have a good amount of room to get away from each other, keep it clean, and make sure everyone is nice and healthy.

Keeping pigeons and chickens together is a bad idea.
They can catch each other's illnesses [not talking about bird flu] and chickens can be very aggressive toward the pigeons. I know from years of experience. Since I have separated the two species life is a lot easier and healthier for everyone.

Oh nooooo, don't think you'll catch a disease from them! I highly doubt that. Just wash your hands after handling them and all should be okay
If they look healthy and happy, then I'm sure they'll be fine for you to get. If you already have other birds though, you'll want to quarantine them for a few weeks and give them some medicine. Check them for canker and any other problems. After all the precautions are done, you can put them in the loft with everyone else. If it makes you feel any better, you might want to do this even if you don't already have any birds.
