Those just look like young squabs. Little squabs will preen each other like that. Are sure its balding or have the feathers just not come in yet.

its not known there exact age as the woman i got them off had two many to count .. its beleved about 6mths i did have 3 but one escaped ... i am in the process of homing the birds .. they have been cooped up for for weeks now .. i am hoping they will stay around when i let them out in two weeks . i am hoping they are a mating pair as there is lots of cooing and beak to beak action ... and have seen one mount the other. i also noticed only once the other bird mounting aswell... i would love more tips on a successful homing but do understand this is never guaranteed.... as they have flown were i purchased them from . the bird that escaped did not return to its first home . i belive it wandered to far and was lost .. please loads of advice would be great

Homey as possible also means they except you into their home when you visit. You can have a very happy and peaceful house but it all changes when a stranger walks in, you are much more comfortable when your FRIENDS come by...Make sure you spend lots of time with them, I spend alot of time with my birds "inside" the loft I talk to them alot, it's a superior way to build a bond. Time is everything I just got back into this myself, but I amazed how much this forum has dusted off all the things I thought I forgot. Good Luck to you!!

As long as you offer adequate food, clean/fresh water, grit, sunshine, draft free/predator free housing, AND LOVE, you should be successful. Every one of us have made mistakes along the way. You have found PT and show a willingness to ask questions. This will help you a lot to avoid any major mistakes. And there definitely is a learning curve, both ways.

And, as mentioned, just let nature take it's course!
