Lazy man's pij cubbies

Got these at the Big "W" for $9.98, they make great cubbies and are easy to set up, plus they are plastic and I can just hose them off. The boys & girls are already arguing over who gets to move in first. I'm going to have to get 3 more.

NAB :-)

And those who remember little D1 well he has a roomate now, little D2 was a domesticated ring-neck that lost his owner, the owners son was going to release him into the wild but called us to ask how he should do it, and we told him don't, once they are domesticated they just don't make it back in the wild very well. D2 is very pretty and now there is a lot of happy dove talk going on in the cage, I think they were both very lonely.

Plastic utility shelves

They had a whole stack of them on sale for only $9.98 so I thought I might as well try some. Worked out pretty good. Lot easier than cutting all the wood.

This is great!!! Love it.
I think when we move (whenever that will be) I will have to think of something like it, easy to set up, to clean and replace if necessary.

The doves are adorable. Glad D1 has a friend now.

Nab,

Your doves are absolutely gorgeous and look like they are in love.

Have you thought about turning the shelving the other way, so they will have more length to move aroun in, or would they knock their noodles, and perhaps the shelf might be a bit slippery? I think it is a clever idea though, but they are going to want to nest in them eventually.

I'm glad you asked that question. I guess I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer.......... I didn't "connect" with this being shelving until you said the word, because it's turned on it's side instead of upright. What a dork I am.
NOW I see what it is..........and no, I'm not blonde if any of you are wondering. (maybe I should have been.......)That is a clever idea.

I think they will like them OK

They are already getting down on them and I haven't even put any nest stuff on the floorboards yet. I've still got to put a little gravel paper on the edges for them, but they seem to like them so far.

Nab, your Wal-mart special looks really good to me. What a deal!

D1 and D2 sure look happy together. Your little gang is growing by leaps and pigeons and doves.

The doves look so sweet. They do get awfully lonely by themselves. Great nesting boxes! I have been using milk crates mostly but am thinking of heading down to the big W!
