Leg catching on "rib cage"


Becca,

Sorry you lost the pigeon. My condolences.

Just now saw the thread. This is of no help or use to you now, but I had something similar occur.

I rescued a pigeon (Rosie) last year with a broken wing. Wrapped it with vet tape (around the body, over the broken wing, and under the healthy wing. He kept tripping on the tape with the front claw of the foot on the side of the broken wing (near the ribs, like you described) and eventually pulling it loose. Several times. I never did get it wrapped properly so that this wouldn't happen. Eventually he went to a vet, the wing was amputated, and he is doing well.

Don't know why he raised his leg so high so that it would catch like that.
