Number on the bands

I have some pigeons, and I was looking at it's band. I saw some numbers on it and decited that I would look the numbers up on the computer. Nothing came up. I was wondering if anyone knows how I can look up the number and I can see who the owner was?

Hi Taylor,

I know some of our members know how to look up the owners and information, etc by the band numbers....unfortunately, I am not one of them.

Perhaps if you post the information that is on the band, one of our members can help you out.

what are alll the numbers and letters on the band.
there will usually be a set of numbers like 05, 04, 03, or 02 this indicates the year the bird was hatched . letters such as au , if , or npa indicate the organization the bands were are regestered through. the letteres IPB mean independant pigeon breeder for people who dont regester with other organizations. i know ipm bands are not acceptable for racing and i believe they can be tracked to the owner through foys pigeon supplies web sight. other letters may indicate a club or breeder. the au , if and npa all have section s on there sights indicating who or what local club the bands were sold to.

The numbers are: DB410NPA40. If anyone knows how to check the numbers so I can see who the owners are that will be great. Also my dad had bought the birds at a local feed lot.

http://www.npausa.com/ i cant find a list for npa club band identification.
if you really needed to you could contact the npa secratery but i wouldnt both

DB is probably the club abbreviation
the 04 is date of hatch 2004
npa national pigeon association
410 is just the id number

Taylor,

You can do this yourself or I will do it for you .. just let me know .. you need to e-mail:

James4bird@aol.com

He is the NPA band secretary .. give him the band information but look closely at it again before sending .. it should have a format of the year, the organization (NPA) the club (DB), and the bird number .. guessing that this is 410 .. I think you misread the band so check again .. maybe you typo'ed and the 40 is actually 04 ???? Please don't waste his time with incorrect band information .. check it again and get it right before you e-mail him. If the 40 is actually 04 .. then tell him this .. 2004 NPA DB 410 ..

Terry

Taylor,
Also when you're checking the band number again...is it DB or D8? D8 would be the size of the band made specifically for certain breeds.
