the only time i have had good luck is moving a mom and nest bowl all at the same time. but out of 6-7 moves it has only worked one time. i would just let them hatch where they are and as soon as they are big enough, pick up the bowl and the mess so they dont lay there again..

Let them hatch and raise the young to the point where they are almost self feeding, and then see about moving them. She may lay again when the babies are 14 days of age, so she may lay again before or after the move.

Hello guys, I'm a newbie too on this. I no longer thought of posting a new thread regarding my topic since it also falls on this category but a different kind of egg transfer.
YOu see I have two pairs of breeders which have laid eggs within seven days interval. the first pair have two eggs while the 2nd pair only has one egg. I thought of transfering the one egg on my breeders that have two eggs even though they are seven days apart. They welcomed the egg but I'm wondering if this will create a problem once the first two eggs hatch. thanks |

Often you will find this with two babies. one thrives while the other withers and dies. Don't blame the parenting skills of the birds, it is called survival of the fittest. |

rexus..
Is/was there a reason not to let your second pair incubate, hatch and raise just one baby? Can the egg be quickly returned to the breeding pair? If not, the only way to "save" that egg is to remove it from the nest when the other eggs hatch and incubate it yourself for the last 7 days and then hand feed the baby....a very daunting task even for the experts. ![]() |

do you know which egg is the third one you added?, they all look the same, I would candle the three and discard the one that is behind in development, and leave the original two....why did you remove the single egg to begin with?
