Thank you for posting this thread, Feather Wings! You, too, are very special to me!
Maggie and I joined PT around the same time. As many of my family site members know, Maggie was very special to me. So much so that I, at times, referred to her as "my sister separated at birth!" I so admired and respected her and Lewis and thought they epitomized what a loving rehab couple should be. I don't believe the soul/spirit ever "dies." Maggie's spirit will always be with us. I had the oddest thing happened this morning. My good friend, Vera, called and said she had found a young pigeon in her back yard who was missing tail feathers. She caught the young one and will be bringing over to me. Laugh if you will, but I am positive Maggie had a spirit hand in this! I have had this poem for a long time and these words say how I truly feel. This is the original version written by Mary Frye. DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the star shine of the the night. I am in flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room, I am the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I did not die. Love and Hugs Maggie and Lewis...always Shi and Mr. Squeaks Last edited by mr squeaks; 10th July 2009 at 12:06 PM. |

I just don't have words to express my absolute sadness. Maggie was so very special. I will miss her so, so much, her huge kind heart and vibrancy and wisdom she brought to all of us.
We mourn this unspeakable loss that leaves such a hole in our lives, as God takes back one of his favorite angels.

When I heard the news this morning I was hoping and praying that this is some mistake.
Oh dear Maggie, I will miss you so much. My heart goes out to her family. She was one of the kindest hearts I ever met and I always felt her so close. RIP, our beloved Maggie. Reti

I am just learning of this news, and am deeply saddened. Maggie will truly be missed. Shi's poem was right on point. I will be sending a donation to Wildlife Welfare, and wish Maggie's family all the best in this tough time.

Guardian Angel is perfect!
Maggie is a TRUE Guardian Angel to the furred and feathered alike! Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Maggie becomes the Leader of all the Guardian Angels!! I DO plan on "meeting" her again...one day... Funny thing...I think of Maggie whenever I log in and I can always feel her "presence/spirit!" I know that Maggie is beguiling all of the heavenly hosts. Victor, Cynthia and Terry…Thank you so much for bestowing upon her this honor. As far as Maggie’s sticky, I have never written a dedication, so if anyone would like to help me out I would appreciate it.
Her title couldn’t be more perfect. Last edited by Feather; 18th July 2009 at 12:15 PM. |

I just learned of Maggie's death. I can hardly take it in. Little Bird, thank you for the candle link. Maggie, your soul was pure beauty. I will miss you greatly, as will many others. Your presence on earth gave healing and peace to so many through your generous heart. RIP dear friend.

Good bye dear MaggieLittle Bird sent me an E-mail this morning. I read part of the mail, but wondered why did she send me the passing of MAGGIE'S FRIENDS passing. I was ready to leave for work, and closed out and planned to read it later suspecting it was a close friend of Maggie.
Bev called me at work this evening and told me she read on Facebook of her passing away. I checked Feathers posting and just could not believe what I had just thought I read. It took me two times before I was able to grasp that it was real. The last time I "talked" to her was about her boys playing here in Omaha for the College World Series. She was a true devoted fan of her NC Tarheels. I did not know Lady Tarheel, also known as Maggie NC, but felt like she was the good neighbor next door. So kind, thoughtful, always willing to step in and advise others on pigeon problems...including me when I first joined. She was indeed a first class lady. She was one of my favorite members on this site and I will truly miss her. |

I was and am so very saddened by the loss of our dear Lady Tarheel/Maggie NC. Like others, I was stunned when I finally realized that Maggie had passed away. My most heartfelt condolences go out to Lewis and Maggie's (she'll always be Maggie to me) entire family.
I know there was a huge flock of beautiful birds waiting for Maggie at the Rainbow Bridge. Rest in peace, Maggie. You will be sorely missed by all your friends here at Pigeon-Talk. Terry |

All of you have written such a beautiful epitaph for Maggie. I love the poems Shi and Charis posted and the candle site Nona presented was so thoughtful.
Nab...I know that Maggie is gushing all over D11 and D12. You know that is exactly the type of photo that she would have loved. All of your posts were so befitting for Maggie. It is clear that I am not grieving alone. Treesa, Reti, Renee, Cynthia, John D, Jenn, Rooster2312, Becky, TerriB, Avion, Linda, Margarret, RodSD, MaryJane, Teresa, Cindy, Spirit Wings, Victor, amyable, Terry, everyone made the profound statement that Maggie will be greatly missed. I was told that a person's success in life was measured by the number of people that will keep their memory alive once they are gone. By those measurements "Our Maggie" was very successful in life. My life was certainly enriched because of her aquatance. I know that all of you are taking Maggie's passing very hard. I am so sorry. Posting this thread was one of the most difficult things that I have ever done. If it wouldn't have been for Shi's gentle persuasion, I don't think I could have done it. I have not been able to completely grasp this. Last edited by Feather; 11th July 2009 at 01:13 AM. |

In Honor Of Maggie ..As many of you know, my FanTastic was one of Maggie's favorite birds here on Pigeon-Talk. As it turns out, FanTastic had accepted Moxie's racer as her mate some time ago. Today, they have egg #1. I was going to wait for egg #2 and then replace them with fakes. Now should the pigeon gods be willing, FanTastic and Mr. Moxie will have babies in a few weeks, and I will name them after Maggie. I think Maggie would like that
