Other than the fact that they drugged the poor buggers, this is a very interesting article.
A professor at Cornell studied these birds long and hard and pretty much concluded that they use several different ways to get home (landmarks, magnetic field, position of sun). He put frosted goggles on them and they still got home. Amazin creatures! |

I have seen documentaries on this.
They said they also used their sense of smell to get home.
