question about sevin

Is this safe for the birds? I have 2 month old babies outside is a avery and wonder if they might be getting mites. I have raised them from 2 days old. I figure with the other birds that come in the yard and the fact that they seem to peck at themselves often that mites might be the problem. I dont see anything on them. I am afraid to use chemicals on them. I bought sevins after seeing past post but want to be sure.
Thanks
Connie

Hello,

You can use Sevin to dust the pigeon for parasites, it's fine and many members use it.
Make sure you cover the face, eyes, beak and nostrils and when you dust the pigeon get the dust everywhere especially under the wings and around the tail area/back of the pigeon, tummy and chest.

If you search "sevin" in our search here at pigeons.com you'll come up with a lot of posts.

Hope that helps..
