Questions about hawks...

Hey guys! i have a few questions...

1. Do hawks migrate? I live in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. In the west. South West, right at the corner of Canada. My town borders Washington State. I was just wondering, do hawks migrate from north to south as well?

2. Do hawks come back to the same place every year? What about the young? Or do new hawks come in every year?

3. My last question would be....how many pigeons can i keep in a loft, 5 foot high, 6 foot long, 4 feet wide. (Breeders)

you should be able to keep about 8 birds
I read that if you multiply the length by width by height then divide that by 15 youll get a rough estimate of how many birds you can keep
as far as the hawks Im not sure but someone will reply and answer that for you

Depends on the species of hawk

Some migrate and other don't. The Swainson's Hawk migrates every year and returns to the same nesting area in the spring. While the Red Tail Hawk stays in his/her territory year round. Just depends on the species.

I was told that you need 1 square floor space per bird, although I could by this have 35 birds, but I only have 13 and I feel that's to many. Thay are always flying into each other. So I am going to suggest 2 square feet per bird. And yes some hawlks fly south, others don't. Your average chicken hawk does not migrate. Hope this helps.

Coopers hawks, which are a scourge on pigeons do migrate. I have some around all year, but get many more in the Fall.
I had 3 trap into my lofts last year.
Supposedlly 95% of young coopers die before reaching breeding age.
I have a good friend, who is a licensed falconer, who tried training a coopers hawk last year. She was very agressive and undependable.
He never flew her free and lost her when she hooked one of her talons though her opposite jesse.
His red tail hawk. Sally, is very calm and has been used in dozens of demos and shows no interest in pigeons.
