Rehabber in Northern Wisconsin

Hi, my name is Kayla, and I'm a 15-year-old in northern wisconsin. I'm trying to start a small rehab facility for any nearby areas. As I cannot drive yet, it will be hard to deal with any long-distance rescues, but I'm just letting people know that I'm out here! I've got a large loft with plenty of extra room, and many smaller cages for those special cases. I've done lots of orphan raising and have even stitched up my own birds from hawk attacks. I've taken a Vet Care class and volunteered at a vet clinic as well as an animal shelter, so I've got a lot of experience for my age. Please do not hesitate to email or message if you need help!

PS- I'll take birds other than pigeons, including orphans (I'm used to the whole feeding-every-45-minutes drill), and also mice, bunnies, etc... almost anything as long as it's not illegal to keep... haha. Then take it to a warden.

That is totally wonderful of you!....but just check if you have to be licensed in your state to do this...that is how you would get your name on a list or something I do believe....good luck with this, you sound like a great careing person!

Weeeeelllllllllll, I got my first call yesterday! A 1-legged bird, apparently white/grey splashed, broken wing on the same side as the leg... the woman thinks it's a homer cock, but she's unsure (no leg= no band= ?), I'm picking up the poor guy tomorrow. I guess that his leg is pretty much healed, as is his wing... it took her a while to find me. I'll update once I've got the little guy! I'm sorta excited, to tell the 100% truth. In a weird way.
Peace.
