Question

RisingStormLofts - Todd Herren

To anyone out there in the "pigeon-verse" that may be able to help,

Does anyone know how to get in touch with a Mr. Todd Herren of RisingStormLofts?

I won an auction he had posted on www.pigeons4sale.com for 2 RC Janssen Squeakers. The auction closed Oct 2. I made paymet to Mary at pigeons4sale by Oct 4 and got her email to me and to Mr. Herren that I had paid for the birds also on 4 Oct.

I only have an email addr for Mr. Herren, but wasn't able to establish contact (get a reply) from him until late 6 Oct. He indicated that he didn't want to ship the birds late in the week because of the potential of them being lost in transit over a weekend... which I understand and agree with.

However, we get to my delema, I've tried to email Mr. Herren agian and get input from him whether or not he will ship today, Tue 12 Oct. I emailed him very early yesterday and early today with still no response.

Meanwhile, we're pressing on into this week with the potential for the same story about not wanting to ship late in the week AND www.pigeons4sale.com and, I'd assume by now, Mr. Herren has my money.

I am not happy. I've called and left a message with Mary that runs pigeons4sale as well as emailed her too, but no reply there.

Any advise or assistance would be apprecieated.

I will caviate this with one reason I decided to bid on Mr. Herren's auction at pigeons4sale is that he had a lot of postitive feedback and no negative comments that I could find. I'm hoping that this is not the norm and that someone here, maybe, can help me get in touch with him other then just an email address so we can clear things up.

Thanks all if for nothing else then just listening.

Zig,
Glad to hear that your birds seem to be on the way. Sorry to hear that you had an intial "bad" experience with the auction site. I have bought from there many times and never had a bad experience. Really surprised to hear that you never heard back from Mary. She has always been very responsive during past dealings with me. May be (clutching for straws) because the auction site is so busy with so many listings (3 pages) at this time. Keep us informed on what happens and let us know when your birds arrive safely.

Et All,
I wouldn't call it a negative experience with Mary at www.pigeons4sale.com nor with Mr. Herren. I was just getting a little frustrated with only having an email address to communicate with. It seems to have all worked well.

I just checked the tracking number I have from Todd for my new... enroute... birdie buddies. They've processed through L.A. and I'd expect them to make Mojave tonight and my place O'Dark Early tomorrow a.m.

I checked "tracking" on www.usps.gov o'dark early this morning when I got up expecting to see that my birdie buddies had made it to Mojave and, hopefully, processed through there, but it still says the same thing it did late yesterday, that they had been through L.A. and that's it.

I'll go by the local Post Office on the way to work here in about a half hour.

They're Here!!!

I picked up 3 new birdie buddies from the post office a little over an hour ago.

I thought I was only getting 2... the 2 RC Janssen Based Squeakers... I got them, plus a 2002 born BC Hen?? They're all really cool, but I don't recall Todd saying he would throw in another for free.

I can definitly tell the 2 RC's are younger then the others... their legs aren't quite the same color and their wadles (sp?) aren't yet white.... and they're smaller.

I have them out in the enclosed landing board / trap area with food and water of their own and the other, original, 6 in the loft proper. I'll probably go by home and check on them at lunch.

That is so nice.
I am glad your birds arrived safe and sound.
I guess if they so young it will be easier for you to train them.
I wonder, why you received three birds. Are you going to contact them and ask?

Yes, I need to shoot Todd an email and ask why I got the 2002 BC Hen too. He offers an "extra" bird in some of his auctions, but I don't recall one being attatched to the RC Squeakers one. She's way cool though.

Just a guess, but I think you might of recieved the extra bird because of the communication snafu you experienced. I have also recieved extra birds with shipments where everything went perfectly....just a little serindipitous treat!

Don't know exactly why I got the extra bird, but its cool and I left positive feedback for Todd on www.pigeons4sale.com.

I shot Todd an email to let him know they arrived safe and to thank him for the extra bird. He replied and said that although the BC is banded 2002 that she is really a 2004 hatch, he just used an old band... so I have no idea how old she is exactly, but she looks older to me (bigger) then the original 6 I got from Foys... the paperwork he sent with says she's a hen though.

Anyway, they're all welcome to the family!
