Scalex question

I have a bottle of Scalex. A few of my new birds have not been treated for mites and lice. One pair of Chinese owls is now tending two eggs. Is it advisable to treat the loft and birds with Scalex with eggs about?

Thanks,
Randy

Which Scatt are you using and when are the eggs due to hatch? if you are using the Scatt drops that would be okay.

My first choice would be to allow them access to frequent bathing (with bath salts or ACV), and put garlic in their drinking water.

I already treat their bath and drinking water with ACV. The breeder that sold me my Horseman Thief Pouters told me that he had not treated my squeakers with Scalex yet but the breeding pair had been.

I am not using SCATT drops. I hadn't heard of them until you ask. Am I missing an essential?
Please advise.

Thanks,
Randy

Scalex is the first line of defense against feather parasites and is a topical spray. Pigeon Salts in the bathing water is an additionally excellent deterent for feather parasites. Scatt is a topically administered product containing Moxidectin....a member of the Avermectin class of medications. The Avermectin class of medications are known as Anthelmintics and erradicate round worms and blood sucking feather parasites.
