Twins-two chicks from same egg

I checked the kids this morning and found in one nest box 3 little yellow chicks. I knew they had only two eggs in there last night at feeding time,So are they considered twins? And is this somewhat common? This is the first time this have happened to me.Is this pair more likely to produce this since this happened or is just chance?

YES, pictures are a must, you cannot come here and post about twins without pics.

I agree, and you must post pics as they grow so we can see if they turn out to be twins.

Its not genetic, i believe so dont expect it to happen again.

Heres a link, the birds dont normally make it out alive i believe. Link contains pictures of dead squabs.

yes, keep close eye on it. The twin may not be able to survive. It is rear! Also are the twin smaller than their other sibling?? picture is a must.

Cute, and rare.
Please keep a very close eye on all 3, but especially the twins.
Some Parents can sometimes have a hard enough job feeding two, but three could be pushing it.

Oh, now isn't that something. Yes, pictures as they grow. And keep an eye, just to make sure that they all get enough to eat.
