Exclamation

where can I find a couple of AU bands this late?

I have a couple of white homers that I have in my garage until I can finish their loft and I know it is late for them to have young but I have 2 eggs and the garage is heated so I want to let them go ahead and finish the hatch. Does anyone know where I can still pick up a couple of AU or IF bands as I want to band them in case they should get lost. Both parents are AU banded and have flown sucessfully but I know there is always that chance of losing one and don't want to let the hatch finish if I can't band. Someone please help if you have info. The second egg was laid 2 days ago so I have time left. Thank you for your help.

AU Bands

Ken,
I have a few 04 bands left over. And, as I have "shut off" production, I don't expect needing any more of them...although one did make it through the detetection process If you want to email me privately I can make arrangement for you to get what you need without going to the trouble and cost of purchasing a whole block.

Just curious... you say that you've got them in your garage until the loft is done.

Are you going to leave them in the garage until the eggs hatch and the babies are weaned?

Moving eggs/little ones in a nest to a new space is not alway (rarely) successful. The parents will abandon the nest.

Weaned pij

Yes, They will be there probably thru the winter as I will not fly again until spring as there are lost of hawks in the area now. Thank you for mentioning it though. Their loft is actually going to be an extention off the back of the garage closed off so no vehicle fumes can harm them. Like my garage is really clean enough to get a vehicle in anyway!!!
