Young Bird Sickness

I'm wondering if anyone else has heard of this
Quote:
One spoon of Cinnamon mixed with 1/2 a pint of hot water add to water fountain, Birds should be on the mend within 24 hrs
I found it at this website http://www.allpets.co.za/allpigeons/Tips.htm
I looked up young bird sickness and found the symptoms,

vomited feed, mucoid droppings. I took the advice, sepperated the bird from the rest, cleane dup what he'd upchucked and gave him fresh water with cinnamon. Within 24 hours he seemed just fine. I kept him seperated another 24 hrs to amke sure. I wonder what is in cinnamon that helps?

How much water do you add this mixture too? 1 Gallon? 1/2 Gallon? I've never heard of this, but if you make it too strong, I would think the birds wouldn't drink it, or enough of it to help and if you make it too weak, then you're probably wasting your time.

how much

You add this to their water fountain which Google says ranges from one to one and a half gallon sizes. Personally i just added it right into a 2 gallon jug and used that to refresh both the coops supply and the seperated birds supply an dlike i said, he seems to be fine. But why? What could be in there that works? And why wouldn't this be a wide spread knowledge. Then again how many people do you know who take cod liver oil these days??
