You can try catching them when it is dark with a flashlight, they can't see well.
Also you can make this trap: http://www.racingbirds.com/ptrap.html

Hello. I throw a coat over the bird. Best to get behind the pigeon.
You can make a home made net. Drop a cardboard box over the pigeon. I have found feeding peanuts by dropping them right above the head, standing behind the pigeon, then grab the pigeon placing each hand over the wings when they are closed. Dont grab wings or pull the tail feathers as the pigeon will release the feathers and become vulnerable. I find it easier to catch if the pigeon is feeding in a flock. Good luck. |

Good advice above...also, if there is any way to 'corner' it....easier to catch if it doesn't have 360 degrees of escape routes.
It's tough...injured or sick pigeons which are still flighted...they are gonna try to flee. It can be frustrating. Describe the injury...is he bleeding ? was he attacked ? Keep us posted. |
