Hi Yong,

Do you know what caused the wound? Is is deep or superficial? And how much does the dove weigh?

Hi Yong,

If it's such a small scratch or wound some antibiotic cream should be sufficient. Try to be sure that the pigeon isn't causing any injury to the little Diamond Doves .. there's a huge difference in size. If you feel something stronger is needed treatment wise, then adjust a pigeon dose for the much lesser weight of the Diamond Dove .. the same meds will work the same way as with pigeons.

Hi guys, sorry it took so long to get back to you. The bird is 42g, and the cut looks a bit deeper than what I was thought I saw the first time. I'm going to take him to the vet tomorrow. i think it will need one or two stitches.

In the cage was a wire shelf, the kind that hangs of the inside of the cage. the shelf came down on top of the bird and pinned his wing underneath it. at first glance he looked just just ruffled up. This morning i saw blood on one of the perches. i couldn't tell who it was so I pulled them all out and looked each one over. there was no blood on the bird, but underneath his feathers is the cut. Poor thing. Yong
