Question

Foy's Doxyty Tablets

Sunday afternoon I got a call from a local parrot rescue. The had been contacted by an individual who had bought a box of sick pigeons at a poultry auction. The rescue was full and didn't take in pigeons anyway. How they got my number I have no idea.

Anywho, they tell me that one of the birds is very, very ill. The individual has had it for nearly two weeks. I am going to take a look today between classes and work. It sounds like Sinustis. After the scare with that sick Capuchine hen I had, I saved up and bought a bottle of Foy's Doxyty Tablets, having read good things about Doxyty on this website, among a few other things.

Has anyone used these tablets? When I first got into pigeons and rescued a Frillback with a severe respiratory infection, I used Batryl. Everyone thought the bird would die, but it lived and is now living the good life with another 4-H'er. It is no longer possible to buy Batryl through Foy's. So this is my first time using these Doxyty tablets and I would really appreciate some advice.

Once I have seen the bird I will post additional information. It might not be Sinustis. Who knows. Bird described as open-beak, labored breathing. Feathers puffed up, hunched over with eyes closed. Large, wet droppings a greenish/grayish/brownish (???) color. Crust around mouth. Eating but struggling to do so. Losing weight. That is all I know for now.

Please pray for the little guy/girl.
