How cold is to cold for babys?

I recently bought 13 solid white trentons with two breeding pairs. I have one baby about ready to fly and two who are just getting feathers and the weather is going to be 25 fahrenheit tonight and colder in the days to come. Do they need some kind of supplemental heat?

I only live in Pa., but last winter I was raiseing babies in minus 0 degree fahrenheit weather. As long as the birds are well fed, and in shelter, I suspect they could thrive in -20 or -30 degrees fahrenheit. Any readers from Canada ? How cold does it get up there -40 ??

I'm not sure there is such a thing as too hot--pigeons love hot weather. If anything, warm weather would encourage them to breed. The shorter daylight hours of winter seem to slow them down somewhat, but mine lay eggs year round.

Wow, you guys from Canada amaze me. I've never experienced that kind of cold in my whole life. The coldest it ever gets here is the high teens and that's rare, perhaps once every 10 years. Usually our winter lows are around freezing or a little below. Currently we've had daytime highs in the 60's and low 70's and my pigeons are enjoying sunbathing.

The lowest it's goen down is -15C (with windchill). It's not that bad once we get the snow on the ground; right now my front yard has about 2ft and we're getting more.
I should get a picture of the field in behind my house to show you all the snow.

hot blooded

Viper as long as they have some feathers and are not exposed to any wind they should be ok sometimes young are raised in that temp but the parents cant leave the young but for very short trips my pairs are always together and in winter if i find eggs i put seperate little feed and water bowls in the nest box to help keep the parents with the chicks good luck

Then there was the confused chimp at the zoo. He was reading the Bible and Darwin's Origin of the Species. Couldn't figure out if he was his brother's keeper or his keeper's brother.

State Road is at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. About 45min north of Winston. It takes about an hour on 77 to get to Virginia from here.
