I am back need help


someone found a pigeon and gave it to me,she has had it for a month,hes white with brown wings,he flips his head to the side,sometimes upside down,he is eating & drinking good,he cant fly,has no bands.what could this be.Happy new year to everyone!!!!!!

Sounds like it could be PMV, in which case he'll need long-term care. Where in NY are you?

so i have to let it run its course,no antibiotics can be given?im also brooding 3 silkie chicks in my room,but the cages are not near one another do i have to worry about that???????????????

Antibiotics won't help at all if it's PMV as it's a virus. How do the poops look?

Could also be paratyphoid or the result of trauma. That's a very handsome bird!

otherwise the pigeon looks great ,his head doesnt do it all the time mostly when he gets nervous???

Does sound more like PMV. Take a picture of the poops, especially if you can get some on plain white paper.

PMV sometimes affects the kidneys as well as the gastrointestinal tract. That can mean a lot of water thrown off amongst other things. One description out of the books is "wet, greenish feces".

i think you are right ,,,,,his poo is watery green will this pass,and if it does ,does that mean that hes always going to ba a carrier.
