Lightweight pigeons

Hi everyone
Glad to have discovered this wonderful forum
Now to my problem
I have 2 sick pigeons at present.Their poop is not runny and they are eating normally but they are both very thin. They have been this way for a few weeks.Unfortunately where I live the vets know absolutely nothing about pigeons as it is not an area where many people keep pigeons
Do pigeons get worms as this is what I am thinking?
If so,what do I medicate them with?
Thanks
Off-topic.I kept them in a box in the kitchen at night for a while as they could not fly up to the opening in the loft.I let them go back to the aviary each day.Gradually they have gotten a bit more strength back and I went out to collect them on Monday and the pair were sitting on my car waiting to be let into the kitchen lol .I love pigeons

Yes, pigeons do get worms.
Where are you located so I can give you a link for the closest pigeon supply.

Wow such smart birds

They can and do get worms...there are so many good products available I don't know which to recommend. Are you familiar with Foy's, Global, Seigel's,...etc?

Hi Weaver and welcome to the forum.

Worms can cause weight loss so I would try to find a good wormer for them. Also, coccidiosis can cause weight loss so I would get something for that too.

Have you checked their throats to make sure they don't have any cheesy deposits inside their mouth. Canker (Trichomoniasis) is also a common pigeon ailment and usually easily treated.
