I thought I would post an update on Erik's, bird. I just got home from work and checked on the little roller. I am amazed at the progress he has made in only 24 hours. The bird is standing on the injured leg and walking with it. The bird does have a pretty good limp, but is walking so much better than just 24 hours ago. The little bird is eating well and his droppings look better as well. When I brought him home his droppings were a bit loose, which can be from stress or other factors, but that has also improved.

New update on Erik's bird.

The bird is doing well. This little roller is up and walking. Woohoo! It does limp and you can tell it still has more recovering to do. It eats well and loves it little extra snack of Saff flower it gets daily. I emailed Erik an update and offered him the cage it is in to let it continue healing at home in his house when he feels he is ready to have it home. I think it will need to be in a cage until it can keep up with the other birds in its loft. This bird is a real sweetie.

Thumbs up

Tanya,

Thank you so much for the update, you are so kind in helping out Erik and his injured pigeon. Sure is great to hear it is doing so much better and the leg is healing so well, probably another 4 or 5 days and it will be getting around pretty good you suppose.

Ellen

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Ellen, I think another 3 or 4 days with me will find it in rather good condition. This weekend I will see if Erik feels like he can handle the bird at his home. So far he has not emailed back, so I will give him a call over the weekend and see what his feelings are about taking the bird home.
