Thanks for the update Hilary.
No matter how you look at it, that is one very lucky pij. Whatever got a hold of him really had him in their grip, But thankfully, not enough to hang on. Great work!! A special thanks to your Mom for helping you get him to the rehabber. Please keep us updated on his recovery. Cindy ![]()

Hey Cindy,
I was cleaning out the wound a while ago, cuase a lot of feathers were in it, and it is about 1cm wide and about 1 to 1 1/2 inches deep (judging by the feathers being pulled out). We didn't get it total clean cause the bird started to breathe really deep (indicating pain) so we stopped and put the eye drop in. So it's in the cage right now eating sunflower seed and it's drinking on it's own now. :) We're really happy everything is working out well. Thanks for the help. Hilary Dawn

My little fighterHey, just wanted to update you on the bird:
1)I'm not sure if I said this already but I'll say it again; the feathery stick thing fell out and the hole healed right over in just "one day". 2)The eye is healing very well. After two days the drops worked their magic. The bird can now blink fully. I pulled the last of the blobs of pus out today, but there still is a tad of a limf over whats felt of the eye. But it seems to be seeing shadows or something cause it can see my hand coming from that side now. 3)The puncture wound is now fully cleaned out. While cleaning out what was left tonight I saw new growth of skin and muscle tussue. 4)He's becoming very active. :) Usually when I put him on the floor of the bathroom he runs and hides under the lip of the counter; but now he walks around and explores. He's also become a very calm bird which is great when I'm working with it. Thanks for all the help. Hilary Dawn PS-my mom doesn't know this but I named him Chance; because the rehaber said he odviouly wouldn't have made it in the wild and that we gave him a second chance at life. ;) :p Thanks for the help again. Bye

My money would be that it's due to the winged death sqauds of the sky.
