Give brewers yeast acv in water. And the old bird will come around. even no band I say its a homer May have been loft raised Or prisoner bird And now lost. Haveing to deal with the wild.

Hi re lee,

He's a wide body fellow...a little under weight.

Missing one toe...long since healed.

Yes...Could well be a 'Loft Bird' or Homer who went feral or got lost or got downed from not feeling well.

He's feeling better to-night, was a big 'wiggle-worm' during exam-time.

Urates still the same...no new poops...

I re-visited the spot where I'd found him...only thin Urate stainbs there...no poops.

'Zinc-Chromate', as used to be used in priming Duraluminum/Aircraft...would be close to the color of these Urate splotches.

Does he eats? Is ist possible that there is nothing in the crop? Try hand feeding him thawed corns and peas.

Hi plamenh,

His Crop was about 1/3rd full of what felt like seeds, yesterday...but, Crop was not passing...digestive system not passing...no odor from mouth/Crop when holding his Beak open...finally, one good size slumpy 'grey' poop this morning...and, now, three more smaller ones since my last writing.

He is not interested in eating yet...which is fine...

The regimen I elected to begin with, yesterday, and, which were still on, is-

Metronidazole...Medistatin...'Divet'...Doxycycline ...all-together, in solution, via 'Mr.Tube', in the late afternoon...and...another 'Medistatin' before bed.

Single Malt Scotch and Water for Volentary drinking...round-the-clock...(which he seems to like, and prefers to plain Water)

He looks alert and calm. Possible as you say there is more than one thing going there. Glad that he started pooping again. Maybe a bit of honey in his water will keep him in strength.
P.S. Are you serving his Single Malt Scotch and Water with ice or without?
(never heard os such treatment before)

Ethyl Alcohol is an antidote for Ethylene Glycol Poisoning...( just in case...)

And...Pigeons usually like Scotch and Water anyway...

I've never given it as 'treatment' before...though it'd probably be good just to relax them sometimes.

Seems like they have about the same ml-per-kilo 'tolerance' as the average person.

Years ago, girlfriend and I got into making really good Hot Toddys and Hot Buttered Rums in Winter, and, turned out, various of the free-rove 'House Birds' and House-Pigeons loved them...you really had to keep your Hand over the Mug, or else they'd sneak up and drink 'like Horses' and be a little 'wobbley' once back on their perches and night roosts.

Where-as, Morning Doves like good English Beer, Dark Beer particularly, like 'Guiness'...'Old Peculiar'...'Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout'...'Newcastle' even...

I rarely consume alcohol, but, Summer, sometimes, I'd open a Bottle of Guinness or other, and, the free-fly Morning Doves would flit over, and run up with that 'look', so, I'd pour a tiny bit in a little Condiment Cup, and they'd sip and savor, sip and savor...very dainty...and so cute...

Maybe it is characteristic for English mourning doves, luckily for me South African doves do not consume it, if they liked beer, I would not get to taste it at all. (there are hundreds of them in my yard)

Well...he's all about being BIG wiley 'Wiggle-Worm' to-day, far as any being held is concerned...

Crop still slightly 'slow'...but, things are passing through and there are light poppings.

Time for a fresh Cage Bottom Towel to see from here.

He ate a little Bowl of small to medium size Seeds.

Fingers Crossed...

Sounds promissing, as long as he eats and poops things should get better.
