Whats wrong with this wild Pigeon?Three years ago i started getting wild pigeons in my garden due to me feeding the smaller birds. One in particular took quite a shine to me and became quite tame very quickly and would love nothing more than to sit on my lap for hours. I called him Cheeky
Today however, i noticed the "white bumpy" part thats on his beak, was darker than usual and stained in a brown colour and then i could see his beak was quite messy also. Where ever he went he left a brown watery mucus, which im guessing must have come from his beak. He was also very skittish with me today. I would hate for anything to be wrong with him now as he's become like a kind of pet (if you know what i mean). So would anyone know what this could be? |

Thank you for your concern over this bird.
He may have some kind of bacterial infection, sour crop, candida...or something else. He needs to be caught so he can be treated. Thank you.

It could also be canker. Whatever it is it will need treating fairly fast.
What part of South Wales are you in? We have a member in Llanelli that has had a few recent canker cases. Cynthia
