Doves Wanted!!!

Hi, I'm interested in getting some pink and/or silky ringneck doves, as well as some miniature doves. Also, I've never had doves shipped, and am wondering how that works and how the doves do coming from long distances, like cross country??

Hi Dovesforsale and welcome to Pigeon-Talk. I don't think I've ever heard of a pink ringneck dove even though I know they are available in a wide range of colors. Silkies are quite amazing to see. By minature dove are you referring to the Diamond Doves?

The dove breeders do ship their birds by Express Mail, but it's getting to be the time of year when it will soon be too cold for some of the breeders to ship.

Are you experienced with doves already? I ask because silky is a lethal gene meaning that you wouldn't want to breed a silky to a silky as there would be no viable offspring.

Though we love doves here on Pigeon-Talk, you may have better luck posting on the doves-pigeons group at Yahoogroups.com. That is a large and very active group with lots of experienced breeders that participate, and the list specializes in only doves and exotic breeds of pigeons.
