Fantails wantedAny Minnesotans who know where I could get either a male or a pair of fantails? I bought a pair last summer from a feedstore and my family loved them. Sadly, a neighbor's dog entered our yard, took the male out of the pen and killed him.
 The female is by herself now. I very much want to buy her some companions. Also my daughter wants more pets  Any information is appreciated.

Please remember not to separate any existing mates to get a new mate for the bird you have remaining.

Hi And Welcome To Pigeon Talk,
Have You Looked On Eggbid.com They Almost always Have The Fantails. If they Are Going To Be Pets I'm Sure You May Find Other Breeds Fast If You Wanted To Adopt. Most the Time all You would Need to do Is Pay the shipping Cost. I Would How Ever Fix the Pen before You Get Any Other Pigeons. Make Sure Its Dog Proof. If It Isn't I Would Look at Having A Big Cage Inside And Only Allow Them In The Outside Pen When You Are There To watch Them. I Know This Most Very Sad Day For Your Little Girl. I wish her And Your family Healing Thougths The Loss Of A Pet Is Just As Hard As A Human Sometimes.

infoThank you for all your info. We now have a strong wooden coop for the fantail that is inside and will move outside during the day when the weather is good.
The dog incident happened, though, when the family was home. No one was outside for those crucial few minutes and that's all it took. We've had free-range chickens for years and dogs never bothered them so we thought the light wire cage was sufficient. Now we know better

Brown FantailI have a brown and white fan tail named Love Machine if you still need one. I'm in California. I have long 2 x 2 planks at the top of my loft that the birds perch on. Love Machine is great at getting above me and pooping on me. It cracks me up because when I look up he's looking down at me with his head tilted giving me the one eye or running away. He knows that he's bombing me!!!
