Getting Out Of Pigeons...Everything Must Go

Hi Folks,

Due to an imminent career change I am forced to give up the pigeon hobby. Everything in my loft has to go. My colony is mainly Smith Family Loft stock. I also have some Kaizer Jannsen birds. I have approximately 30 pairs of breeders as well as about 50 young birds that I have not settled that could be raced this fall for someone. The young birds I am going to sell in teams of 10 birds. PM or e-mail me for specifics.

Dan

Wow. Glad it is a career change and not ill health, as happens to so many flyers.

Word on the street is that you have really nice birds.

I hope you can get back into it later in life. Good luck.

Ohhhh, so YOU are the one Warren was talking about. For some reason my brain just didn't click when he said your name, until now, haha. If I had some money, I'd probably take some youngin's.

Sorry to hear your racing career has been interrupted. Hopefully, you'll be able to get going again once you are finally settled.

Dan,

I know the Great Recession has turned many peoples lives upside down. I wish you and your family the very best, and I know that you are motivated and focused on the welfare of the wife and kids first and formost. Hopefully we will see and hear from you from time to time, as your thoughtful posts will surely be missed. Take care of yourself and the family my friend.

Thank you all for your kind words of support. This decision was not reached upon lightly or easily. I will miss all of the wisdom and advice that I received from this forum, but of course none more than my dear friend and mentor,
Warren Smith. I hope everyone else on this forum realizes what a tremendous resource you have in this man. Without his help and guidance I would never have been able to enjoy these birds and this hobby as much as I have. That is deffinitely what I will miss the most. His constant watchful eye from a distance helping me over every stumbling block that came allong...and believe me, these have been constant! People like this are not so common so use him and know that he will always tell you the truth as best as he knows it. He is someone I came to trust and I hope you all will too.

Take Care All,

Dan

Sorry to hear the news Dan...Don't forget about us here at PT!

If Warren sends me over some of his Ludo birds then I might consider him being a nice guy.....lol .

But seriously, Warren is an awesome dude and has a wealth of knowledge. I highly respect his take on the sport of pigeons. He's like a pigeon "Yoda"!

learning. I and apparently several others, have PM'd you about your birds. I have not received a response. Are they all gone, or are you just busy sorting things out?
