That's great! Can you post pictures? If so, we want to see the new birds. Congratulations!

I'm going to borrow a camera just to take pictures! If all goes well I'll put them up Saturday night. ( Mine is still on vacation with my mother)

Sorry that it took so long to get back with the pictures. I've finally got back to a less than crazy work schedule. Steve was great for working with me to pick up the birds. He has gorgeous birds! He invited me to stay and watch a race but unfortunately I had to go to work.

I'll post a second message with a few more pictures of the loft. The first two are pictures of the birds (Aren't they cute ) and the last one is a picture looking in to the top of the loft.

Here are a few more of the coop. The pan that is the bottom of the loft section slides out and is lined with black rubber that can be scrubbed off every few days. The top of the loft section also has hinges so that it can be flipped back to scrap off the perches. The pen area is in the sun off and on all day and the birds come out to sun. The ground has a thick layer of sand and they seem to love to come out and scratch in it.

Had to show you my white picket fence. I put it up because my dogs were being creepy and just sitting staring at the birds for hours...

congrats Tracy! they are nothin' but pretty!...your coop is so nice too, seems easy to clean...what kind is the white bird? it reminds me of my seraphims
....oh also you may want to put perches in the aviary, they like to fly up to them and get more use from the space in there.

It is a seraphim! How do you like them? Between the seraphim and the homer the seraphim is so much more gentle.

It takes nearly nothing to the loft spotless. I rack the sand every night after I close the coop. My next project (possibly next weekend) will be to put up some perches in the aviary. I completely forgot when I was that I had left them out.

oh I really like mine..the pair hatched a baby, well he/she is 30 days old now and just as tame as a kitten..he peeps at me and does not mind being held... the parents....ah not so much....but they are just so pretty, I now you will enjoy her(looks henish to me)? I got mine to use for display for weddings or christmas parties and such, ive yet to do that with them having the young'un and all, but I think they would be great for that and earn some feed money to boot...I hope. if not I get to look at them and love it.

OH MY GOSH! I feel like the worst bird owner EVER. I found out that the birds have picked up lice ( thanks to steve for the advice on how get rid of them ) and then I popped out to work for a few hours only to return and find out that I had a visit from a raccoon. It didn't get my birds ( my neighbor got the raccoon) but it managed to open the door to the pen. The white bird didn't offer to fly away but my lovely almond homer ( named scrappy) took the chance to stretch his wings. I tried to get him back with feed but he's flown out of the yard now and has not come back to roost for the night. He's still so young, has been here such a short time and it's rainy today to top off a horrible situation. Is there anything I can do?
