Yes, it would be nice if everyone went to one website for selling and buying pigeons, that would save a lot of time. But it is just not possible, given the web is for everyone, from every walk of life through out this wholle planet!! I would hold that thought.....maybe in the not-so distant future!?! Treesa

I agree also. I wish there was only one or two places to buy and sell pigeons. I have ran into quite a few, but can't not bookmark them all, so I can never find most of them again.

I kinda like Eggbid, but it seems like the site is dedicated to all fowl rather than pigeons. I check here dailey also, but find that the number of birds is not so great.

The key is to find or build a website that covers all pigeons (performance, racing, show, and pet), but has indepth information on most if not all aspects of pigeons. So that everyone can find what they're looking for. And the main thing is to spread the word of a good site. If you recommend a site to someone and they visit it and find that they too enjoy it and find it useful they inturn will tell others, and the site activity will become greater.

I am new to pigeons. I just built my small loft, and got 10 Janssen homers, 2 white homers, 2 satinettes, 10 Birmingham Rollers last week. My frined from work has been racing and raising Homers for like 30 some years, and he gave me the birds to get me started.

Now I am in a constent search for info. I have ordered a varity of books like "Breeding and Inheritance In Pigeons", "Encyclopedia Of Pigeons", "NPA Standard", "Sexing Fowl and Baby Chicks", "The Birmingham Roller", "The Pigeon", and "The Roller Manual". I am interested in racing, rollers, showing, breeding for color and/or traits, and training.

I am also thinking of building a website to cover these topics also. I don't want to put any other pigeon site out of business, I just want to have a site where anyone can go and find everything them are looking for as far as free information. I have nothing to sell, except for maybe a few extra birds once in awhile, and they might be just given away, who knows. I have build a website for woodworking, home improvement, and gardeing and it is taking off nicely, I started it in February, and I have about 600 people per day visiting now.

If anyone is interested in giving some ideas for a website, or wants to write some articles or tips, email me. I'm still thinking about this, but if I get enough imput and interest then I might go ahead and buy a name and some webspace.

Later,
Rob

Well to have several places to look up pigeons for sale Is a good thing. Like eggbid. It has a place for pigeons and avrages about a 100 or more birds for sale at any given time. There are several sites that has birds fors sale and trade. a small number would lead to a very large listing taking away from finding what you want and saling the birds also as to many at one site would say flood the market in one area. Used to be birds would be sold by word of mouth and not as easy to find some of the different breeds. Now its just punching in the breed and searching the sites. One handicap is buying with out handleing and not knowing for sure about the background sometimes. But it a risk many take And it works out for the best on the most part.
