Sell it on ebay?

This is just a sort of a 'follow up' for Warriec & pigeonsrock threads about shipping eggs....Just a question...I know Pidgey shipped an egg to rallow but...has anyone ever thought about selling pigeon eggs on ebay?

I didn't look, but I don't think you can sell eggs on Ebay.

Yes you can sell eggs on Ebay. I know you can sell Chicken eggs for hatching but I'm not sure about pigeon eggs. I don't see why they would allow one and not the other so my guess is you can sell pigeon eggs also.

There is a petition that I've seen, that is wanting Ebay to allow eggs to be sent other ways besides overnight. As of right now, Ebay only allows them to be shipped overnight.

Yeah, you're right you can sell eggs on ebay, I've seen several listings for chicken, pheasant, duck and even peacock eggs for sale on ebay.

If you look at the adoption and for sale forums here, folks like to have an idea of who they are doing business w/or placing for adoption with. Maybe I'm unaware of a way around this, as I don't do lots of business there, but I thought that once placing something for bid you are bound by the rules there and can't withdraw an item just because you don't like who shows up to buy it. So if I told you, after being a high bidder that I was going to use the babies to do dog training or something else that you thought objectionable, you would still be bound to sell the eggs to me. Or any other process of 'discovery' of who the high bidder was that made the transaction questionable ethically speaking for you.

w/living beings in the bidding process. Just something to thunk on.

I see, but actually... you can retract your bid on an item if you enter the auction's 'code' number and it'll automatically withdraw your bid.

i agree with you feralpigeon. you should know how is going to get the birds and if they will have a good loving home.

I agree with you feralpigeon but the seller can also cancel the buyers bid if he/she wants to.
But I do totally understand what your saying.

Just another point on pigeons.

They're fully dependent on their parents for food and shelter when they hatch, unlike phesants, ducks, or chickens which are relatively independent. This makes pigeons very poor candidates for being bought as a fertile egg.

If anyone at eBay has sense they will not allow the sale of fertile pigeon eggs.

Yes, but they have to be ready (already nesting), and then accept the young.

Selling fertile pigeon eggs is a bad idea-JMO.
