Wanted; First Racing Homers in CAHi all,
After doing quite a bit of research and construction on a loft, I'm finally ready to pick up a few birds and start raising pigeons. I've raised other birds in the past, but I've decided I'd like to try my hand at homing pigeons. I'd like to get a few pairs but don't know where to start, other than internet auctions which I'm not inclined to get birds from. If you know of anyone in the Bay or Sacramento area of California it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Just curious why wouldn't you buy something of an auction?Maybe they're selling junk?

I'd just like to see visually the first birds i'll be getting, and an auction is not as personal thats all.

Are you looking for squeakers or breeders?

Have you checked the adoption section? Look for posts from Elizabethy in the Bay area. I think she gets a variety of different birds in from time to time and adoption is so much more "circle of life" and generaly satisfactory. We adopted a pair of nice breeders and they have given us a batch of wonderful squeakers
. Unless you want specific genetic lines...then you need to check with the folks in the performance/show sections!![]() |
