Wanted in Sacramento CA - one red maleI really want a red male and have been looking for months. Only found females. Does anyone have a red male? I don't care if it's grizzle, check, spread, just red. Also breed is not very important doesn't have to be anything fancy. Thank you!! I will drive 50 miles or so....name your price
![]() Will consider other colors as well. Just not pure white or blue/black checked or a tort grizzle or black/blue spread (have them already). A blue bar would be great I think they are beautiful too, or a nice spotty grizzle. Last edited by Kimberly_CA; 13th September 2008 at 09:19 PM. |

I have a red one that's around three months now, but of course I'm not sure he's a "he" yet. He has no mate yet. He seems like a male, as he's pretty large for a pij, but his parents are big too. He's a cute little guy. I'll get a picture for you in the next few days. You're always welcome to take him if he turns out to be a boy, or you can take him and if he lays eggs lol, I would of course take him back. I also have a blue bar youngster who was weaned last week; his mom is HomerGirl, a retired '98blue bar racer, and his dad is a former-feral blue bar. Again, I'm not sure he's a he. He was an oops baby so he had no sibling to compare to (same with the red one
). Have you checked with Elizabethy? She does a lot of rescues for the shelters around there. You can click on her name and send her an e-mail, as I know she doesn't check here too much. Or, look at the shelters online, a lot of times they will have pics up of pigeons available. Elizabethy has mostly white ones atm, I think, though. ![]()

I looked at some shelters, so far only found guinea fowl....i'll keep checking tho. Thanks so much for the offer of the babies. I would love one! The past few days my baby bird who I thought was a girl has been acting mightly boyish....so even if the red bird turns out female it might be ok. And even if my baby is a girl thats ok b/c I want to add some numbers to my flock. Nothing big in the interest of my neighbors. But I think 6 would be better than 4, more eyes watching. If it's ok with you the red will eventually be free flying after spending the colder months enclosed getting to know the area (you saw my situation in my last thread). Only if thats ok with you would I take the offer. I'll pm you my number
