Wanted: Yellow Homers in NY

I'm looking for a pair of yellow homers who have never been released. I'm in the Long Island area. I have saddle homers who could benefit from training with birds who have a strong homing instinct. I currently have birds that will either not go for fly at all or go for a fly and get lost and do not return. I feel that they could use some guidance from a more experienced homer. So if anyone has any to offer or could refer me to someone else, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi NYCamille,

I don't believe that Saddle Homers were ever intended to be free flying birds. I think they are strictly show birds. Our member, George Simon, breeds Saddle Homers and will hopefully see your thread and reply.

Hi Camille

Hi, I am the guy that posted the message looking for a pair of pigeons on Long Island. I am in PA now and was looking to get back into pigeons with my daughters. You had posted a reply asking what part of Long Island. Since I have had so much trouble logging in I was unable to reply. I am from East Meadow (in Nassau County). A few weeks ago we went to the Wellwood Avenue Pigeon Store in Lindenhurst (I have not been there since I was about 11 or 12) and we bought a "pair" of young Rollers. They both turned out to be males but they seem to get along and we are having a great time flying them. Only one rolls at this point.
