Warning For Members Offering Birds For Sale

WARNING FOR MEMBERS OFFERING BIRDS FOR SALE

We need to make our members offering birds for sale aware of the fact that you may be contacted, either through the forum or privately by email, by people who may want your birds for dog training or other cruel or inhumane purposes.

Please try to keep this warning in mind when and if you are contacted by prospective buyers, especially those looking for free or cheap birds. Please ask questions of the buyers to try to make certain that your birds will be going to a loving and caring home.

Thank you,

Linda

Thanks

For the warning. I saw people asking for cheap or free birds. And some even say they will train thier dogs to hunt. This makes me so sad. Hunters tend to buy birds for $1.00-5.00. BE CAREFUL!!!

buyers for training

I always ask what experience my buyers have with pigeons, their intentions with them, and offer continued 'support' after the purchase to insure that my pigeons go to a good home. However with the world the way it is these days, unless i stay in constant contact with the buyer, i always wonder in the back of my mind if they are being taken care of. People lie to get what they want, i could ask all the questions in the world, and all they have to do is tell me what they think i wanna hear. Then I have to decide if i believe the or not. I have turned down several potential buyers for fear that they werent being completely truthful.

It's a good point that all the answers may seem "correct" but that something is still amiss, and using intuition along with reasoning may get the best result.
